Hikvision and Dahua ANPR cameras
gate.hayaterp.com ↗Hikvision and Dahua cameras that read number plates themselves can send each plate to Hayat Gate — to the Gate Agent on the gate's network (port 7782, recommended: works offline and opens the barrier) or straight to Hayat over the internet with the camera's push address. Step by step in the camera's web page, with checks and common problems.
Dedicated ANPR cameras (Hikvision DS-TCG / iDS-2CD7A / DS-2CD4A ANPR models, Dahua ITC "Access ANPR" models) read the plate inside the camera, with their own IR and plate exposure. They are better than ordinary cameras for fast traffic, long distance and bad light. Hayat Gate takes the plate and photo from the camera and makes the same decision as for any other read.
Two ways to connect
| To the Gate Agent (recommended) | Straight to Hayat (no agent) | |
|---|---|---|
| Camera sends to | the gate PC, e.g. http://192.168.1.50:7782/hikvision |
its Push address, e.g. https://backend.hayaterp.com/api/gate/camera/…/hikvision |
| Internet down | gate keeps working, log sent later | reads are lost until the line is back |
| Opens the barrier | yes, through the agent | only if a Gate Agent is also paired on the site; otherwise Hayat only logs and alerts |
| Needs | a gate PC with the agent | internet on the camera; the camera must support HTTPS |
In both cases first add the camera on its lane in gate.hayaterp.com with Kind Hikvision or Dahua and its IP (Set up a site → Cameras). The agent only accepts plates from camera IPs entered there.
Hikvision: send to the Gate Agent
- On a laptop on the same network, open the camera's IP in Chrome (e.g.
http://192.168.1.65) and sign in as admin. - Go to Configuration → Network → Advanced Settings → HTTP Listening (on some models Alarm Server).
- Destination IP or Host Name: the gate PC's IP, e.g.
192.168.1.50. - URL:
/hikvision - Port:
7782 - Protocol: HTTP. Click Save, then Test if there is a button.
- Go to Configuration → Event → Road Traffic (or Vehicle Detection), choose the detection area over the lane, and under Linkage Method tick Notify Surveillance Center (or Upload to Center). Save.
- Under Network → Advanced → Integration Protocol or the HTTP listening page, switch on the heartbeat if offered — then Hayat knows the camera is alive on quiet nights.
Hikvision: send straight to Hayat
- In gate.hayaterp.com open the camera on its lane and copy the Push address. It looks like
https://backend.hayaterp.com/api/gate/camera/Xk…40 characters…/hikvision. - In the camera, Configuration → Network → Advanced Settings → HTTP Listening.
- Destination Host Name:
backend.hayaterp.com - URL: the part after the host name:
/api/gate/camera/Xk…/hikvision - Port:
443, Protocol: HTTPS. Save. - Turn on Notify Surveillance Center under the vehicle detection event, as in step 7 above.
- The camera needs internet and a correct DNS server (Network → TCP/IP → DNS, e.g.
8.8.8.8) and correct time (System → Time → NTP).
If the camera offers only HTTP (no HTTPS), do not send to Hayat over plain HTTP — connect it to the Gate Agent instead.
Dahua: send to the Gate Agent
- Open the camera's IP in Chrome (e.g.
http://192.168.1.108) and sign in. - Go to Setting → Network → Platform (or HTTP Upload / ITSAPI, depending on the model). Enable it.
- Server address: the gate PC's IP, e.g.
192.168.1.50. Port:7782. - Path / URL:
/dahua(the camera's default/NotificationInfo/TollgateInfoalso works). - Tick Upload picture (plate cut-out and full picture) and, if offered, Keep alive / heartbeat. Save.
Dahua: send straight to Hayat
Same page, with Server address backend.hayaterp.com, Port 443, HTTPS on, and Path the part of the camera's Push address after the host name (/api/gate/camera/…/dahua). Use HTTPS only.
Check it works
- Drive a car past. On gate.hayaterp.com the camera's Last event time changes, and the read appears in the live log with source: Hikvision or Dahua.
- With the agent, the read also shows on the gate PC's status page at
http://localhost:7781. - If nothing arrives: check the camera can ping the gate PC; that the camera's IP is the one typed in Hayat; that the gate PC's firewall allows port 7782 from the camera network (the installer's
-CameraNetwork); and that the vehicle detection event is linked to Notify Surveillance Center. - Plates shown as unknown or no plate are ignored, but still mark the camera alive.
Keep the push address secret
The push address works without a password — the long code in it is the key. Do not share it or put it in a screenshot. If it has been seen by someone it should not, open the camera in gate.hayaterp.com and click New key: the old address stops working at once, so paste the new one into the camera straight after.
Opening the barrier with the camera's own output
Many ANPR cameras have an alarm output that can drive the barrier. Let the agent use it (barrier driver Hikvision camera output or Dahua camera output, see Barriers) rather than the camera's own allow-list, so the decision stays in Hayat. Switch off the camera's own Allow list → open barrier setting to avoid two systems opening the same barrier.
