Hayat Gate at gate.hayaterp.com reads number plates at your gates, opens the boom barrier for residents, staff and visitors with a pass, alerts the guards about blacklisted vehicles and runs paid parking with monthly passes — for housing societies, offices, malls, parking lots and security companies. Who it is for, how it works, what you need and where to start.

Hayat Gate reads the number plate of every vehicle at your gate, decides in a second whether it may come in, opens the boom barrier, and keeps a log with a photo. Residents and staff drive in without stopping, visitors come with a pass on their phone, blacklisted vehicles raise an alarm for the guards, and paid parking charges by the plate — no paper tickets. Everything is managed at gate.hayaterp.com with your normal Hayat sign-in.

Who it is for

You run What Hayat Gate does for you
Housing society (DHA, Bahria, a gated block or an apartment complex) Residents' cars open the barrier by themselves; residents invite their guests from their phone; the guard sees every car with its house number.
Office building or factory Employees' and fleet vehicles in by the plate, with time windows (e.g. Monday–Saturday, 7 am – 8 pm); visitors with a pass; a log for the security file.
Mall, hospital or hotel parking Ticketless paid parking: the entry reads the plate, the exit asks for the fee, the cashier takes cash, card, JazzCash or Easypaisa. Occupancy per floor.
Parking lot or plaza Hourly and daily tariffs, night rate, lost-ticket fee, monthly passes billed through Hayat ERP.
Security company Many client sites under one account, alerts from all sites, and a read-only view for each client.

One Hayat business can have many sites (a society, a mall, a lot). Each site has its own gates, lanes, cameras, vehicles and tariffs.

How it works

  1. A camera at each lane sees the car. The plate is read in one of two ways: - an ordinary IP camera sends its video to the Hayat Gate Agent, a small program on a PC at the gate, which reads the plate itself (no cost per read, works without internet) — see Install the Gate Agent; - or a Hikvision / Dahua ANPR camera reads the plate and sends it to the agent or straight to Hayat — see ANPR cameras.
  2. Hayat checks the plate against the site's lists: registered vehicles, monthly passes, visitor passes, the blacklist and the lane's rules.
  3. The decision is one of Allow (barrier opens), Deny (stays closed), Alert (guards are warned) or Pay (paid exit: the cashier takes the fee first).
  4. The agent opens the barrier through a relay — see Barriers.
  5. The read, photo, decision and who opened what are saved in the log and on the reports.

Pakistani plates are understood in all common forms — LEA-1234, BKR-123, ICT-1234, the bike form LEB-12-1234, Urdu digits — and the usual misreads (O and 0, I and 1, B and 8, S and 5, Z and 2) are corrected. A plate that is one character off (e.g. LEA-1235 for LEA-1234) never opens the barrier by itself; it alerts the guard.

The Admin and Management roles have all four. For guards, make a role (Settings → Roles) with See and Guards: open barriers…; for cashiers, See and Take parking payments…. The ready-made Security Guard role only has the gate-pass permissions — add Guards: open barriers… to it if your guards use Hayat Gate. See Roles.

Before you start

  • The module. Hayat Gate is switched on for your business by the Hayat team (it starts off, like the other opt-in workspaces). Ask Hayat support.
  • At each gate: one camera per lane, a boom barrier with an "open" input, a relay or IO module to press that input, a PC for the Gate Agent (or ANPR cameras), wired internet, and a UPS. See the hardware list.
  • For paid parking: a cashier PC or tablet at the exit, and your online payments set up if you want JazzCash, Easypaisa or card links.

Getting started in order

  1. Set up the site: gates, lanes, zones, cameras, barriers and a device with its pairing code.
  2. Install the Gate Agent on the gate PC and pair it — or point your ANPR cameras at Hayat.
  3. Wire and test the barriers — first with the barrier disconnected.
  4. Add residents, staff and their vehicles, and the blacklist.
  5. Paid parking: add the tariffs; for regular parkers, monthly passes.
  6. Give guards and cashiers their sign-ins and show them the guard screen.
  7. Check privacy settings: how long photos are kept and who can see them.
