The guard screen

gate.hayaterp.com ↗

What a guard does in Hayat Gate on a phone, tablet or the gate cabin PC — the live log with photos, alerts with sound, opening a barrier with a reason, typing a plate by hand when the camera misses it, checking visitors in by QR or plate, looking up a plate, a camera snapshot, and correcting the parking count.

Guards use the Hayat Gate app on an Android phone (from hayat_gate.apk), or gate.hayaterp.com on a tablet in the cabin or the gate PC. The app adds a loud alarm that works even when the app is closed (On duty) and a cashier screen for paid parking (Parking cashier). Each guard signs in with their own user — never share one sign-in, because every barrier opening is logged with the guard's name.

A guard needs the permissions See gate passes… (gate.view) and Guards: open barriers, check visitors in, manual entries, acknowledge alerts (gate.operate). See Who does what.

The live screen

Choose your site (and gate) at the top. The screen shows, as they happen:

  • every read: time, lane, plate with its photo, in / out, who it is (Resident — House 12-B, Visitor of Ahmed Raza, Monthly pass, Unknown) and the decision in colour — green Allowed, red Denied, orange Alert, blue Pay;
  • alerts at the top, with a beep for High and Critical ones;
  • the gate PCs online or offline, and the free spaces if the site has zones.

Tap a read to see the large photo, the plate as read, the confidence, and why Hayat decided as it did (e.g. outside time window, pass expired, unregistered).

Open the barrier

For a car Hayat did not let in, but you have checked (a resident in a new car, an ambulance, a delivery the resident called about):

  1. Open barrier on the lane.
  2. Type the reason — required: Resident in a new car, called House 12-B, Ambulance.
  3. Type the plate if you know it.
  4. Open. The barrier opens within a second or two through the gate PC.

The opening, your name and the reason go in the log and on the Guard actions report. If it says the gate PC is not connected, use the barrier's own push-button — see Barriers → Safety.

Type a plate by hand

When the camera missed a car (mud on the plate, a bike, a broken camera), add it yourself so the log and the parking count stay right: Manual entry → the lane, the plate, In or Out, a note, then:

  • Let in (app) / Record with Open barrier ticked (website) — Hayat checks the plate against the lists just like a camera read and opens the barrier;
  • Stop (app) / Stop vehicle (website) — you refused the car. It is logged as Denied — Stopped by your name: your reason, the barrier stays closed, no parking stay starts and a visitor pass is not used up. Stops are counted per guard in the Guard actions report.

Check a visitor in

  1. Ask the visitor for the pass on their phone.
  2. Scan pass and point the camera at the QR code (or type the pass number).
  3. Hayat shows the pass: visitor, host and house, time window, entries used. If it is not valid, it says why (expired, already used, cancelled).
  4. Choose the lane, type the plate of the car they came in, and Check in — with Open barrier if needed.

A guard can also make a visitor pass on the spot after calling the resident: + Visitor pass (see Visitor passes).

Look up a plate

Plate lookup: type a plate to see at once whether it is a registered vehicle (with owner and house), has a monthly or visitor pass, is on the blacklist, is inside now, and its last entries and exits.

Alerts

Acknowledge an alert as soon as you are dealing with it, then Resolve it with a note when done. See Handling an alert.

Other buttons

  • Snapshot — a still picture from a lane's camera now (to check the angle, or something suspicious).
  • Adjust on a zone — correct the cars-inside count with a reason (3 cars left by the emergency gate).
  • Close session — close a parking stay that was left open (a car read in twice), with a note.

On duty

In the app, turn on On duty (Gate tab, under Inside now) at the start of your shift. While it is on, a small Hayat Gate notification stays in the status bar and the phone checks for alarms every 15 seconds — so a blacklisted vehicle rings loudly even when the app is closed, the screen is off or you are in another app. Tap the alarm to open the alert.

  • The first time, allow notifications and Let app always run in the background — without them Android may stop the alarm to save battery.
  • On duty lasts one shift (12 hours). If the notification says Open the app to stay on duty, just open the app once.
  • Turn it off (or sign out) at the end of your shift.
  • On duty is Android only.

Parking cashier

Cashiers (permission gate.cashier) see Parking cashier on the Gate tab of sites with paid lanes:

  1. Type the plate, or tap a car in Cars waiting at exit.
  2. Check the amount due, the time inside and the breakdown (lost ticket if needed).
  3. Take payment: Cash (type the amount given to see the change), Card (the approval number is required) or JazzCash / Easypaisa (show the QR; the receipt opens by itself when paid).
  4. Share receipt if the driver wants it, then Open exit barrier and Next car.

The same screen is on the website: Cashier. See Paid parking.

Good habits at the cabin

  • Keep the phone charged and On duty on for the whole shift.
  • Never open the barrier for a car on a Deny alert without your supervisor's word.
  • If the gate PC shows Offline, tell the supervisor: the gate still works from its own copy, but the cloud cannot open barriers remotely.
  • Know where the barrier's push-button, remote and hand release are.
