What posts by itself

You rarely need to type accounting entries. Hayat posts them when the business documents are posted:

Goods receipt, supplier bill Stock, input tax, goods received not invoiced, payables
Customer receipt, supplier payment Cash/bank against receivables/payables, withholding tax

Payroll Salaries, EOBI, social security, income tax payable
Shift close Cash over / short

Chart of accounts

Finance → Accounts lists the accounts in groups with their statement line. The standard accounts (marked system) are created with your company. Add your own with + New account, e.g. a separate bank account or expense head.

Journals

Finance → Journals shows every posted entry with its source (POS, inventory, sales…). Use + Journal voucher for manual entries such as depreciation corrections or opening balances, and Quick expense for a simple paid expense.

Financial statements

Finance → Financial statements produces IAS 1 statements with comparative figures and notes:

  • Statement of financial position (balance sheet)
  • Profit or loss
  • Cash flows
  • Changes in equity
  • Notes, trial balance, general ledger, day book
  • Profitability and budget vs actual

Pick the date or period, tick Comparative figures and use Excel, PDF or Print.

Banks

Open a bank account to import its statement and reconcile — Hayat matches deposits and payments to your entries and lists what is left to explain.

Financial years

Finance → Financial years creates the year and its months. You can soft-close a month (only finance can still post) and close the year, which moves profit to retained earnings and locks the period.

Fixed assets and budgets

  • Fixed assets — the register of property, plant and equipment. Assets are capitalised from bills, and monthly depreciation posts with Run depreciation.
  • Budgets — a budget per income and expense account by month; compare them on Budget vs actual.

Data integrity

Integrity runs nightly checks that the books agree: POS tenders against cash-up and accounts, stock roll-forward, stock against accounts, customer and supplier ledgers, bank and cash. Anything that does not match becomes an exception to investigate.
