Readings and devices
health.hayaterp.com ↗For patients — get blood pressure, sugar, oxygen, heart rate, temperature, weight, steps and sleep into Hayat Health from Google Health Connect (Samsung, Fitbit, Xiaomi, Huawei…), Apple Health, Bluetooth BP monitors, glucometers, oximeters, thermometers and scales, or by typing them; pairing tips, what each reading needs, and reading reminders.
A reading is one measurement: a blood pressure, a sugar, an oxygen level, a weight. Readings come into Hayat Health four ways — pick whatever you already use. The phone and Bluetooth ways need the Hayat Health app.
| What you measure | Ways in |
|---|---|
| Blood pressure (with pulse) | Bluetooth BP monitor, Health Connect / Apple Health, typed |
| Blood sugar — fasting, random or after a meal | Bluetooth glucometer, Health Connect / Apple Health, typed |
| Oxygen (SpO2) | Bluetooth finger oximeter, watch, typed |
| Heart rate, resting heart rate, HRV | Watch or band, typed |
| Temperature (°C or °F) | Bluetooth thermometer, typed |
| Weight (kg or lb) | Bluetooth scale, Health Connect / Apple Health, typed |
| Steps, sleep hours, breathing rate | Phone, watch or band |
| ECG result (sinus rhythm, AFib) | Watch, through Health Connect / Apple Health |
Android: Health Connect
Health Connect is Android's shared health store: Samsung Health, Fitbit, Xiaomi / Mi Fitness (Zepp), Huawei Health, Oura and others write into it, and Hayat Health reads from it.
- Make sure Health Connect is on the phone (built into Android 14 and later; on older phones install it from the Play Store).
- In your watch or fitness app, turn on sync to Health Connect.
- In Hayat Health, choose connect Health Connect and allow the data types you want shared — only what you tick is read.
- Readings sync when you open the app and, where Android allows, in the background.
To stop, untick the data types (or remove Hayat Health) in the Health Connect settings on your phone.
iPhone: Apple Health
- Your Apple Watch, and apps such as Omron Connect or a smart scale's app, already write into Health.
- In Hayat Health choose connect Apple Health and allow the categories you want shared.
- Readings sync when you open Hayat Health and in the background where iOS allows.
To stop: iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Hayat Health.
Bluetooth monitors
Hayat Health talks directly to Bluetooth devices that use the standard medical Bluetooth profiles — blood pressure monitors, glucometers, finger pulse oximeters, thermometers, weighing scales and heart-rate straps. Look for "Bluetooth" (or "BLE") on the box. Some brands' devices only talk to their own app — those cannot connect directly; let their app write into Health Connect or Apple Health instead, and Hayat Health picks the readings up from there. If you are buying a new device, ask your doctor or check with Hayat support which models have been tried.
- In Hayat Health choose add a device and allow Bluetooth (and on Android, nearby devices / location if asked).
- Put the device in pairing mode — usually hold its Bluetooth or Start button until a symbol blinks (see its manual).
- Pick it from the list. Some ask for a PIN shown on the device's screen.
- Take a measurement with the app open; it appears in Hayat Health within seconds.
Pairing tips
- Keep the phone within a metre; switch Bluetooth off and on if the device does not appear.
- If the device was paired to its own app, it may only talk to one phone app at a time — close the other app or remove it from that app first.
- Readings stored in the device while it was not connected are usually sent at the next connection — check the date and time on the device are correct.
- Change the batteries if it connects and drops.
- Glucometers: after measuring, choose fasting, random or after meal if the app asks — the safe limits differ.
Type a reading
Choose add a reading, the kind, the value(s) and unit, and the time it was taken (not the time you type it). For blood pressure type the top (systolic) and bottom (diastolic) numbers; for sugar choose fasting, random or after a meal. Add a note if you like (after a walk).
Measure well: blood pressure after 5 minutes sitting, arm at heart level, no tea or cigarette for 30 minutes; weight in the morning before breakfast.
Duplicates, BMI and mistakes
- The same reading arriving twice (from the device and from Health Connect) is saved once.
- BMI is worked out from each weight when your height is in your profile.
- A wrong reading (wrong person on the monitor, a typing mistake) can be deleted from your list.
Reading reminders
Choose which readings you want to be reminded about (e.g. blood pressure, fasting sugar) and after how many days without one (0–30). Your doctor can also ask for regular readings; then you are reminded on their schedule. Reminders arrive as a phone notification.
